Your body has done something extraordinary and now it heals. Knowing what's normal takes the worry out of the early weeks.

What's normal — and what's not
Normal
Bleeding like a heavy period, and cramps as the uterus shrinks. Discharge (lochia) fades over weeks: red → pink → brown → yellow.
Not normal — get care
Soaking a pad every hour, foul-smelling discharge, or large clots. Tell your gynaecologist.
